Janapriya Basic School

Janapriya Basic School is a government school situated in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality, Kaski District, of Gandaki Province, a picturesque location in western Nepal, well-known for its close association with the Annapurna mountain range as well as for being a part of the larger Pokhara Tourism Zone. As a basic school, it forms a part of the local government’s schooling network along with other basic schools like Barahi Basic School, Himgiri Basic School, and Machapuchhre Basic School which cater to the villages of Machhapuchchhre. There are in total 45 schools in this municipality – 39 government and 6 private – with 44 of them imparting education at the basic level; thus, indicating how important basic schooling is for this community’s educational setup. Just like other public basic schools in this rural locality, it probably provides schooling from Early Childhood Development (ECD) up to Grade 5 or 8. It is one such basic schooling option which is cheap and accessible for the locals. Since it is a part of the Kaski District, a hub for education in Nepal with its center being Pokhara, it receives benefit from the educational focus of the district.
