Kathmandu International Study Centre

The Kathmandu International Study Centre (KISC) was founded to cater to the educational needs of the children of missionaries who came to Nepal to provide humanitarian aid following the country's opening up to foreigners in the early 1950s. KISC was established in 1987 by United Mission To Nepal (UMN) and International Nepal Fellowship (INF) and has since gained a strong reputation as an International Christian School in Nepal. In 2007, ownership of KISC was transferred to the Nepali NGO, Human Development And Community Services (HDCS), by the Ministry of Education of the Government of Nepal.

KISC has been re-accredited by the Middle States Association: Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA, USA) for another seven years, starting from April 2022. In addition, KISC serves as a center for Cambridge International Examinations (UK) and has recently received accreditation from the British School Overseas (BSO).

Mission

• To provide excellent education, primarily for the Christian mission community and Nepali school communities, based on biblical values. Through KISC’s international K-12 school and EQUIP teacher training program, students and staff will positively impact their world.
